Jefferson Township is a Township of the Second Class, located in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. The Township is governed by the Board of Supervisors who each serve a 6-year term. Municipal offices are located at 487 Cortez Road, Jefferson Township PA 18436 and regular hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Agricultural Security Advisory Committee - Volunteer Opportunities

The Board of Supervisors is seeking one (1) Active Farmer to serve on the Agricultural Security Advisory Committee (ASAC). The ASAC works in conjunction with the Planning Commission and reviews applications, provides expert advice, and makes recommendations for acceptance/denial when properties apply to be included in the Township's Agricultural Security Area. The Board of Supervisors is seeking to fill the following board vacancies: (2) - Zoning Hearing Board Alternate Members. Attends Zoning Hearing Board hearings and will fill in as a voting member if there is an absence/lack of quorum. The Zoning Hearing Barod hears appeals to the Zoning Officer's determinations, variance requests and challenges.
